From TracingWiki
The aim of this wiki is to document computer system tracing and monitoring. It covers tracing at both the system level (operating system or hypervisor) and the user level. Tracing may be used for performance analysis, system behaviour understanding, system testing and debugging, or for monitoring the system health, performance and security. The systems studied may be multi-core, distributed and heterogeneous, with Linux being the reference operating system (mostly because it is open source). For instance, the system traced may consist in a pocket computer and cellular phone interacting with multiple distributed, redundant online servers.
